We typically work with 6 to 15 high school youth for our Summer Workshops. In recent years we've also started up a year-round component to experiment with a more intensive professional development model. Towards this end, whenever possible, we compensate the youth for their time; youth are typically paid through the MYEEP program which also mandates general job training workshops.

I’m Daniel Ly and I’m 15 years old. I go to Washington High School. I like to play basketball, go shopping, and hang out with my girlfriend! The things I like to buy are brand name clothes and the type of shoes I buy are Jordons. I can be stubborn at times but if I can be proven wrong, then I’ll listen. I am not a follower. I like to do my own things. My favorite TV shows are white shows such as The O.C., One Tree Hill, and Laguna Beach. My favorite pair of Jordons is the the Jordon 11.

Hi my name is Jacky San and I currently will turn 16 on June 27… like what! I go to Galileo High School and I am one of the coolest, funniest friends you can really get along with. I also live in the TxL (Tenderloin) and TxL is hella cool. Um, not really, but I grew up there and raised there, so I can’t really put my own place down like that. All I can say is I’m just cool. Good.

My name is Kerwin Uy and I am 17 years old. I go to George Washington High School. I play basketball and hang out with my friends on my spare time. My parents were born in the Philippines and I was born in the U.S. but I’m only Chinese. My coach calls me Silent Bob and my team calls me Kirby. I like to watch sports and Family Guy on TV.

My name is Rathana Mang and I’m 15 years old. I’m a Cambodian-American that lives in S.F. I also attend Washington High School as a Sophmore. Some of my hobbies is playing basketball, hanging with family and friends, and many more. My family came from Cambodia in the 1980’s because of all the war going on there. So that’s basically how I got to live in S.F. My favorite classic TV shows are Full House and Family Matters.

My name is Samson Ly. I am an 11th grader currently attending Galileo High School. I was born and raised in San Francisco. Basketball is my favorite sport. My favorite player is Allen Iverson. I like his attitude, he puts all his effort and heart into the game. Some people consider my personallity annoying. I like the way I am and I don't like other people telling me I have to change. When I grow up, I want to start and own some sort of company or be a chef. The reason is to show all the people who don't think I can become successful. I just want to prove them wrong.

My name is Stanley Hy and I'm half Chinese and half Vietnamese. I go to Galilelo High School and I'm 16 years old. The hobbies that I do for a living is raise fishes. I used to have fighting fish but now I have only one fish. It's called a arowana fish and it can grow really big. I raise fish because it seems fun. But even though it's kind of hard, it all pays off because you can see the fish grow big and that it shows that you are responsible. I also have a Chinchilla.
