Drop-in Tutoring
VYDC staff provides daily tutoring for middle and high-school students. Tutoring is available in a variety of subjects and in both English and Vietnamese.
Services provided by VYDC’s Asian Youth Prevention Services (AYPS)

College Prep
The Asian American Communities for Education (AACE) provides VYDC with an on-site College Advisor to assist young people in their preparation for college. Services include college admission prep, assistance with financial aid applications, advice and referral for students as they prepare for higher education.

On-site at School

Francisco Middle School
In collaboration with Francisco Connection, VYDC staff meets with Cambodian students at Francisco Middle School on a weekly basis to discuss school-related and family issues; share information about communities and school services, as well as encourage them to learn peer-support skills; and increase their motivation to improve attendance and academic performance.

Newcomer High School & Galileo High School
Facilitated by agency staff, Vietnamese students at Newcomer & Galileo participate in weekly group sessions, which include health education, academic assistance and support services to assist newcomer students in their transition.

Services provided by Empowering Southeast Asian Youth Services (ESAY) and Asian Youth Prevention Services (AYPS).
