Jobs for Youth

VYDC Employment Readiness Development Program provides youth with the opportunities to gain paid work experiences year-round. VYDC has placed thousands of youth to work through summer and afterschool at diverse employments at the private sector, public sector and non-profit sector.

Program Goals:

  • To develop job skills and provide experiences that increase career awareness and future employability.
  • To increase knowledge of educational opportunities and promote community involvement

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides extremely low-income and low-income youth ages 17 to 24 years with summer jobs and employment readiness training. Participants begin work on June 28, 2010 and will end on August 6, 2010.

SYEP Program is funded by the San Francisco Office of Economic Workforce Development (OEWD).

The Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP) is a city-wide collaborative, which provides the largest after-school youth employment program in San Francisco. As a member of the collaborative for over 23 years, VYDC offers meaningful opportunities such as job training, career exploration, academic support, and youth development services for high-school students. The programs runs in 2-cycles, June 28-August 13, 2010 (summer) and November -late April 2011 (fall-spring)

MYEEP Program is funded by the Department of Children, Youth and their Families (DCYF) through the Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYF)
